What Are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are one of the ingredients in the cannabis sativa plant. According to research, there are over 100 cannabinoids in the cannabis sativa plant. However, few, including tetrahydrocannabinol(THC) and cannabidiol(CBD), have been widely studied. Cannabinoids occur alongside other compounds, including terpenes and flavonoids.

What Are the Primary Differences Between THC and CBD?

THC is psychoactive, while CBD is non-psychoactive. To it another way, THC can get you “high”, while CBD does not provide the high sensation. Also, CBD is less likely to show on a drug test, while THC can make you fail the drug test.

How Can CBD Be Beneficial for Everyday Wellness and Beauty Applications?

Research shows CBD reduces cortisol levels in the body, treating or preventing anxiety and depression. When you have little to no stress, you are more likely to get a good night’s rest. These anti-inflammatory properties are also thought to treat or prevent skin-related condones such as acne, psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis.

According to studies, THC can help with anxiety, boost sleep quality and reduce chronic pain. The cannabinoid is also anti-inflammatory, thus can reduce inflammation and prevent chronic inflammatory conditions. Being anti-inflammatory also means THC can help with the aforementioned skin conditions.
