SCANDINAVIAN SLEEP METHOD

WHAT IS THE SCANDINAVIAN SLEEP METHOD AND CAN IT HELP YOU SLEEP BETTER?

1.What is the Scandinavian sleep method and how does it work?

In most countries, people, especially couples use one duvet or blanket when sleeping. But the Scandinavian method involves two separate duvets with some overlooking the top sheet.

2.What are the potential sleep benefits?

A partner can choose what suits their temperature

If you freeze and your partner is always running hot, it is easier to choose a duvet weight that favors your body temperature. You do not have to suffocate your partner that is uncomfortable using one blanket even if it is king size.

Enough freedom

Having your duvet offers enough freedom to do what you want throughout the night. You can let out one foot or both. Sometimes you can cover yourself halfway and make varied adjustments that would not apply under one duvet.

3. How can sleeping with an individual comforter improve sleep quality, quantity and onset?

It helps avoid sleep disturbances from a partner with insomnia issues. There movements and activities may not bother your sleep.

4.What are the downsides of sharing a comforter?

Impacts intimacy between couples

Separate comforters make it hard to easily cuddle after jumping in bed. But this does not suggest that it is impossible to cuddle since you can overlap the duvets slightly and get under one double-sized type.

Spreading the bed may be hard

People argue that making the bed with two twin blankets can be difficult. But I think it can be easy by separately spreading them and having them meet at the center.

5. How can it impact sleep and/or what disruptions can it cause?

If your partner moves, you move, when they snore, you my get stressed, and suppose they wake, you are likely to wake. Such disruptions can reduce your sleep quality, resulting in irritability and negative energy upon waking up.

6. Overall: can the Scandinavian sleep method actually help you sleep better? Why or why not?

Of course, yes. I prefer it to a single blanket because I get the freedom to choose my duvet’s preference in weight and temperature. My partner’s movements during the night are not a problem.
