In my opinion, the dissociative pout trend might have been triggered by several reasons. The trend, which entails taking ‘cool’ pictures with inflated lips, wide rolled eyes, and a fawning face to create a lobotomy girl appearance, has taken over Instagram by storms as girls or women find it hot. It’s loved due to its idea of expressing beauty ironically. Women tend to adore the sexy looks of having a messy appearance without trying to, which is not the case as the process demands a lot of makeup application.
The trend might have gained popularity as more feminist women enhanced self-consciousness through amazing selfies and pictures. Dissociation is the kind of way that women can use to detach themselves from predominant feminist morals and boredom by taking part in attention-seeking ethics. The Euphoria show has contributed to the spread of dissociative pouts as the smartest women participate in it. I believe that the death drive, expressing our fears, wants, fantasies, and nihilism on how people dress, apply makeup, and portray themselves over the internet can influence the masses.
