Why We Love Bond Girls: Pussy Galore, Solitaire and Xenia

With the upcoming release of the hotly anticipated Skyfall, it seems only appropriate that we should take a look back at some of the most beautiful ladies that 007 has had the opportunity to work with. There have been bad Bond girls and there have been good Bond girls, but each of them has had their own distinctive charm. Here are our top 3 choices for the ladies that make 007’s job such an enviable one.

HONOR BLACKMAN as PUSSY GALORE in GOLDFINGER (1964)

We all remember Ursula Andress coming out of the water wearing THAT bikini in Dr No but Honor Blackman was the first Bond girl to really give 007 a run for his money. Not only that, but her introduction gave Sean Connery the chance to reply for all of us: ‘I must be dreaming.” Pussy works for the greedy Auric Goldfinger, but with a bit of tender coercion from our man Bond she soon sees that his is the side to be on. Not only that, but she has her own team of beautiful henchwomen. You couldn’t ask for a better partner.

JANE SEYMOUR as SOLITAIRE in LIVE AND LET DIE (1973)

Another Bond girl who James manages to lure away from the villain, the lovely Jane Seymour plays a beautiful tarot card reader who is invaluable voodoo drug lord Kananga. Invaluable, that is, until she’s deflowered by Bond and her psychic abilities are rendered useless. Seymour would go on to further fame as Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman, but it’s her seductive but naïve turn as the innocent tarot expert that has kept her in the hearts and minds of so many.

FAMKE JANSSEN as XENIA ONATOPP in GOLDENEYE (1995)

Right, after those two ladies who were only half-bad, how about a proper villainess? Who can forget Janssen’s star-making performance as Xenia, the Russian black widow who crushes her victims to death between her thighs and derives sexual gratification from killing people? Obviously, the sensible thing to do would be to keep as far away from possible, but Bond is only human after all, and finds himself between the gorgeous Xenia’s thighs more than once, and who can blame him, really?

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
