WORST BREAKFAST CEREAL

WORST BREAKFAST CEREAL FOR OVERALL HEALTH?

What would you say is the worst (or a few of the worst) options at the grocery store? What are some healthier alternatives?

I always discourage my clients from maximizing on the following cereals;

Granola with chocolate

Granola is crunchy and tasty, making it hard for many people to resist. It is even more tempting when prepared with chocolate, and that is where health issues become more. It contains too much fat, sugar, and chocolate, which greatly contribute to weight gain. Excessive sugar consumption can also cause body inflammation and spikes in blood glucose level, leading to various diseases, such as, diabetes. I usually tell people to make granola chocolate a rare treat.

Sugar frosted cornflakes

This cereal resembles most sweetened cereals, including honey-nut coated cereals. It contains excessive sugar amounts that can accumulate as fat in the body, resulting in fatty liver disease. It can later cause diabetes and risk diseases, such as, cardiovascular disease. It also lacks enough fiber, meaning you will possibly feel hungry more often and overeat. Instead of the sugar-coated type, why not eat puffed rice or pure cornflakes and probably a fruit.

Golden crisp

Golden crisp is wonderfully touted and claimed to be a versatile cereal. But, is it true? Well, this product’s top ingredient on the list is sugar, and others, include corn syrup. This implies it has a large sugar content. Therefore, take precaution when shopping. Including limiting the intake or substituting with healthier cereals like oatmeal.
