Salicylic acid is wonderful for oily skin. It can treat acne by clearing the oil in the pores that bring pimples. However, a product containing salicylic acid may worsen symptoms on dry skin, such as flaking and redness. The acid possibly dries out almost all the oil, leaving your skin worse.
What are some moisturizing alternatives to use instead?
I recommend using an oil-based cleanser for removal of oil related impurities. I like such cleansers because they lock hydration and balance the skin, giving it a glowing complexion. They also protect the skin’s good bacteria.
