BEST CARBS EATEN BY THE LONGEST LIVING PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

Who else wants to get in the longevity diet like me? It is because I want to add another 60 years.

People in the blue zone continents never count calories, weigh food grams, or read labels. It all starts with food selection. The residents have ready access to fruits and veggies and other healthy practices. The following are their carbs options;

Oats

Oats contain prebiotic fiber for fueling the body’s probiotics- the good bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. According to research, beta-glucan in oats is a soluble fiber for reducing cholesterol, thus lowering the risk of chronic diseases.

Taro

It is a tuber in the category of starchy root veggie family. It tastes almost like potatoes and contains numerous fibers. Also, it has immune-boosting antioxidants, zinc, and minerals for enhancing the body’s overall health, including great heart and bone health.

Would you say not all carbs are created equal when it comes to living longer? Why

I would say that not all carbs are similar from a nutritional perspective. For instance, processed types, including white bread and cookies, have been associated with heart disease and weight gain. But the other nutritious type, such as whole grains, are minimally processed with more valuable features. They contain minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins for endless health effects, leading to a longer life.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
