Romantic burnout is real, my friends. This form of burnout occurs when we lose interest in our partners or the relationship. When romantic burnout strikes, you are more likely to experience low emotional energy, develop a negative attitude towards love, and react negatively to the concept of dating.
How It Compares to Other Types of Burnouts
Other types of burnouts include Overload, Under-challenged, and neglect burnout. Overload burnout stems from tackling more tasks without rest. Under-challenged burnout, on the other hand, is birthed when you feel less appreciated. For Neglect burnout, the sense of purpose you were married to disappears, making you feel unfulfilled.
How to Combat Relationship Burnout
Talk about it with your partner. Having an open dialog with your partner allows you to reconnect to each other, elbowing out the feelings of emotional exhaustion. You can also seek professional help. A registered psychologist or couples therapist can help you identify the burnout triggers and ways to combat them.
