CHICKENPOX

CHICKENPOX WITH FEELING IRRITABLE BEING A LESSER-KNOWN EARLY WARNING SIGN

From my study, chickenpox can cause irritability which is among the less known symptoms due to the neurological complications it induces on the body. The infection tends to trigger acute cerebellar ataxia especially in kids and varicella meningoencephalitis which lead to swelling and inflammation of various parts of the nervous system. This can worsen irritability and other symptoms.

Other less known signs if chickenpox are headaches, fever, light sensitivity, fatigue, nausea and poor appetite.

What to do if you think your child may have chickenpox

I recommend you give your child acetaminophen to lower the high fever, apply skin creams or lotions to ease itchiness, enhance their fluid or liquid intake to counter dehydration and bath them with cold water containing baking soda.
