Diet Drinks
Researchers believe taking large amounts of diet drinks, including diet coke and fruit juice, can encourage the formation of blood clots in your small arteries, heightening the risk of heart disease and stroke. Although most studies on the connection between diet drinks and the high risk of blood clots are still in their developmental stages, as a credentialled dietician, I advise you to consume these beverages in moderation. It also won’t hurt if you avoid them.
Red and Processed Meats
Red and processed meats are high in fat, salt, and cholesterol. When you have a lot of sodium, fat, or cholesterol in your body, there is a decent chance clotting can happen in your blood vessels. To reduce the risk of blood clots and maintain healthy blood vessels, you may want to limit red and processed meats in your diet.
