How Exactly Can Stress Lead to Hair Loss?

When you are severely stressed, the hair follicles enter the telogen “resting phase”. While in this phase, the hair follicles stop producing new hair strands. This results in temporary hair loss, a condition we medically referred to as telogen effluvium. The condition can also stem from poor nutrition, hormonal imbalance, unwanted weight loss, and menopause.

How To Prevent/Fix Hair Loss Stemming from Stress

 If you are experiencing menopause, opt for hormone replacement therapy. You can also address stress-related hair loss through diet. Take protein-rich foods,including meat, eggs, beans, grain, and fish. Adding Iron-rich foods,including liver, dark green leafy vegetables, lentils, and red meat into your personal toolbox can also help.
