HOW TO GET OVER A MENTAL BLOCK

HOW TO GET OVER A MENTAL BLOCK

Several factors can cause mental blockage, including a chaotic environment, procrastination, and decision fatigue. But you can overcome it through the ways below.

Small tasks first

Most individuals get mental blocks due to overwhelming tasks that confuse them. They fail to know where to start, leading to stress and anxiety. But I advise my clients to have a to-do list and determine which one comes first, beginning with the simplest. This boosts creativity and motivation to continue even with the hard ones.

Consider breaks

If you are going through a mental block and keep working unsuccessfully, it is best to break. You are likely to be concentrating more on the mental block than the task. A break refreshes your mind and possibly brings new ideas to handle the duty with a different approach. Therefore, if you get stuck in an assignment, stretch or take a cup of coffee before going back.

Apply self-care

A person’s mental strength requires rest and recovery. Expect a mental block when you pressure your body excessively but deny it time to relax. Taking care of yourself helps promote happiness and good health. My self-care techniques include going for nature walks, exercising in the morning- thrice a week, and therapy. Also, sleeping for eight hours helps overcome my mental blocks.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
