How to Make Travel More Comfortable When You Suffer from Sciatica

Perform Sciatica Exercises Before Travelling

If you are on a sciatica exercise program, make it part of your everyday life. Performing sciatica exercises before travelling helps with sciatic nerve pain, boosts leg mobility and helps the sciatic nerve function properly. I also suggest stretching after an hour or two during the flight to keep your sciatica pain levels low.

Listen to Soothing Music

Distractions can lower the pain during the flight. That is why as a credentialed physiotherapist, I always advise my clients suffering from sciatica to carry soothing music to make their travel more comfortable.

Get The Right Sitting or Sleeping Posture

If you have sciatica, you may want the right sitting or sleeping posture to avoid firing up the sciatic nerve pain.

What to Carry

To make travel more comfortable when you suffer from sciatica, carry;

  • Hot or cold compression packs
  • Medications
  • A gel, cream or spray for sciatica pain
