How To Remove a Tick from A Human-Safest Method

Removing ticks with tweezers is the safest way to get rid of the arthropod. When you use tweezers, you lessen the risk of complications and infections. If you must use other methods, I strongly suggest using antibiotic prophylaxis at the end of the exercise.

How to Get Started

Requirements

  • Gloves
  • Fine-tipped tweezers
  • A paper towel

Instructions

  • Grasp the tick around its mouth with the tweezers. While you may prefer grabbing the tick’s stomach, the arthropod can release its saliva into your body, heightening the risk of infections and complications.
  • Without twisting, pull the tick out
  • Place the tick on a paper towel for proper handling and disposal
  • Bath the bitten area with enough warm water and soap
  • Check out with a healthcare provider if you experience health problems after removing the arthropod

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
