WORKOUT MORNING EVENING

IS IT BETTER TO WORKOUT IN THE MORNING OR THE EVENING?

Are you a morning or evening person when it comes to exercise? Some people wake up in the morning to work out as though it is their cup of coffee. But others prefer evening. The morning group mostly says they like it because it keeps them alert throughout the day, whereas the evening ones mostly report that it relieves them of the day’s stresses. Well, I always tell my clients that the ‘perfect’ time is when they can. It could be when you are off duty or during your most favorite aerobics session.

Studies indicate that overweight individuals can successfully lose weight when exercising in the morning because it is the time muscle cell genes get activated to enhance sugar and fat metabolism. Conversely, evening workouts utilize less oxygen, improving exercise efficiency and athletic performance. If athletes exercise with less oxygen, it suggests they will spend less energy and possibly perform more. Additionally, training at a specific time every day can improve your circadian function by helping you to sleep and wake up at the same time; whether you exercise in the morning or evening. Therefore, I think the ‘best’ time to workout depends on your goal for exercising. It can also be that time when you can.
