Following that 32% of the participants reported being ‘phubbed’ at least 2 or 3 times per day.

Further **research on Phubbing has reported that phubbing could have a detrimental effect on relationships as well as a person’s mental health. One particular **study reported that people that experience Phubbing in their relationship have decreased martial satisfaction. Another ^study discovered that couples who regularly phub each other have increased depression levels.

When a person is on the receiving end of phubbing it leaves the person feeling like they don’t matter to their partner They feel rejected and excluded. This can lead to feelings of depression and anxiety. People that have been phubbed often then try to get the human contact they crave by going online themselves. This creates a vicious circle or partners going online for companionship rather than spending quality time together.
