It is important to give your friend or loved one time or date you will need your money back when loaning them. When you set a timeline and agree on it, your loanee should pay it back in time. If they don’t honor the timeline, don’t wait to ask them to pay you back. In fact, you can remind them every day if it’s beyond the timeline.
As the rule of thumb, never lend money that endangers your financial health. If lending money to your friend or family member means putting brakes on your important matters, avoid it. If you must lend your money, assume that it was a gift. Having less expectations when lending money to someone close to you can save you from a lot of mental health issues like stress.
