HOW TO COPE WITH MOTHER’S DAY IF YOU’VE LOST YOUR MUM/MOTHERLY FIGURE

Celebrating Mother’s Day without a mum is difficult, but here are ways to cope with it;

Don’t be harsh on yourself

Please avoid putting pressure on yourself, pretending to be fine. Emotions are wavy. They can come or disappear. Perhaps engage in a practice that brings back their memories, such as lighting a candle or buying them their sweet flower.

Develop a memory book

I recommend you fill a journal with everything your mother meant to your life. Or a memory book with her photos or family images that takes you through the fond memories and blissful moments you had together.

Overlook Mother’s Day

If this day overwhelms you, it is best to ignore it. I prefer going off all social networks and giving the best part of the day in practices that bring happiness. For example, read a book, go hiking, or watch Netflix movies.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
