LIBERATION FROM THE FEAR OF BEING DISLIKED

Why we so deeply crave being liked by others

Humans naturally want approval from others. They are social beings and require bonding with others for better survival. Suppose other people dislike you, be sure to be abandoned and you will miss out on many opportunities. Therefore, to want to be liked, accepted, and appreciated is a usual part of human beings. But it will not always work that way because the world has varied individuals. Some people will not like you and it would help if you make peace with that fact.

How we can let go of the need to be liked when it gets in the way of fulfilling our dreams and goals.

Is your need to be liked bringing derailing your success or stressing you? Consider the tips below;

We all do not think the same

Did you know that similar traits making you liked by some individuals can stimulate dislike from others? The world has differing views and disputing opinions, do you still expect all people to like you? It will not be logical if you do.

You are not everybody’s most essential need in life

Perhaps your concern is those who like you. But you may fail to notice that there is someone somewhere worrying about people who like them. Even an opinion given by others about you, may not be a basic concern to some of them. So why should it worry you?

Seek counseling

If your need to be liked is causing distress or anxiety probably because of wishing to reach other people’s expectations, I recommend seeking counseling for better coping guidelines.
