Here are some negative effects of energy drinks from my research;
They are high in sugar
Most energy drinks contain high sugar levels that can trigger inflammation increasing your risk of heart diseases, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses.
Can stimulate binge drinking
Some people tend to mix alcohol with sports drinks which confuses the intoxication levels. Energy drinks are energizing and stimulating, while alcohol has depressive effects; this slows down how fast you get drunk, causing binge drinking and heightening the risks of your chronic condition.
High caffeine levels
Energy drinks are usually loaded with caffeine though some brands opt to hide the caffeine content on the labels. Drinking energy drinks regularly increases your caffeine levels, causing harmful effects such as fats, heart rates, sleep troubles, nervousness, high blood pressure, restlessness, and dehydration.
Energy drinks can impact men’s fertility and lower their chances of getting pregnant, especially when taking in high amounts before sex.
In teens, excess consumption of energy drinks can result to slow cognitive development, sleep troubles, higher risks of mental condition, and cardiovascular impairment.
