What Are Night Terrors

What Are Night Terrors?

Night terrors are a form of parasomnia that attacks during Non-REM or NREM sleep. Also known as sleep terrors, night terrors occur 3 or 4 hours into sleep, with the victim showing terror and panic signs, including flailing, screaming, and intense fear. My research established that this undesirable occurrence is common in children andaffectsa few adults. Although they are frightening, sleep terrors are not medically significant.

Are Night Terrors Increasing in Women?

As already stated above, sleep terrors are less likely to affect adults. For this reason, the number of women experiencing this undesirable occurrence is still low.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
