Why More Men Are Getting Skin Cancer

From a male skin expert’s point of view, men are more susceptible to skin cancer due to excessive sun exposure. Excessive sun exposure is contributed by spending more time outside, especially for work. The increased risk of skin cancer also stems from the lack of sunscreen in most men’s personal care products. Normally, sunscreen reduces sunburn, a risk factor for skin cancer.

How Macho Culture Is Causing Harm

Some men believe being gravitated toward skincare and grooming is feminine. For this group of men, simple grooming tasks, including shaving, are enough. It is neglecting skincare in fear to change the meaning of being a “man” or “masculine,” causing harm to men, especially outdoor workers.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
