A LESSER-KNOWN SIGN OF B12 DEFICIENCY

A LESSER-KNOWN SIGN OF B12 DEFICIENCY

How the deficiency causes it

Researchers connect vitamin B12 deficiency to increased risk of depression. The vitamin is helpful in ensuring efficient functioning of the central nervous system. It releases brain chemicals, including serotonin that influence your mood and brain processes. Therefore, lack of it or deficiency could directly alter your mental health.

How to spot it

The symptoms include;

  • Body weakness
  • Confusion
  • Poor concentration
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Racing heartbeat even without exercise

 What to do.

Several factors determine the kind of treatment or remedy. However, I recommend taking higher vitamin B12 doses because they have shown to be effective, especially for individuals without current medications that may hinder its working. Supplementation may help boost your vitamin. I also encourage my clients to load more vitamin B12 sources in their diets, such as fish, meat, and fortified cereals. Even vegetarians have varied options to go for.
