LIVER DISEASE

BLOOD IN THE STOOL AS A SYMPTOM OF ALCOHOL-RELATED LIVER DISEASE.

Consuming excess alcohol can result to tearing of some liver tissues which are secreted as bloody traces in your stool. Excessive drinking overtime impairs normal functioning and structure of the liver. Alcohol can cause liver damage weakening the blood vessels especially the veins in the gut tract. This weakens, inflames the blood vessel and make them extra sensitive heightening the risk of internal bleeding characterized by blood in your poop or stool. Liver failure can also contribute to bloody stools.
