What Are Your Thoughts on The Study/Findings?

As a registered nutritionist, first, I find the study interesting. Secondly, I agree with the findings because I usually advise my clients, especially postmenopausal women, to eat sufficient prunes. Most of them now swear by fruits, saying they improve their bone health.

Why Are Prunes Beneficial for Bone Health?

Prunes are high in polyphenols, which are antioxidants that reduce inflammatory factors, preventing and reducing bone loss. Normally, postmenopausal have low estrogen levels. Being short on estrogen triggers inflammation, causing osteoporosis.

Can You Suggest Ways to Eat Prunes If People Don’t Like to Eat Them on Their Own?

If you don’t like eating prunes on their own, place ¼ cup pitted prunes in a bowl with ½ cup cooked rice and ½ cup milk. Stir the mixture and heat it in the microwave, with the setting resting on “High” for at least one minute. If you want a hot meal, leave the bowel with the mixture in the microwave for 30 more seconds.
