Dangerous Password Mistakes

You Should Never Make These Dangerous Password Mistakes

Keeping It Too Simple

Most of us want passwords that we can remember to log in to our phones or computers quickly. To me, this is one of the grave mistakes we make because hackers are too smart these days.Popular passwords, including 12345, are easily guessed or found. For this reason, you may really want a virtually random password.

Keeping it Too short

A password with less than 8 characters spells trouble for your security and privacy. In this day and age, we are surrounded by technology that people can use for evil purposes. Take computers with increased processing speed, for instance. Can your six-character password protect you when hackers use such a machine? As a tech expert, I strongly suggest setting an 8-character password. If you have super important accounts, opt for a 10 to 12 or 14 to 16-character password.

Sharing Your Passwords

Sharing passwords for your streaming services may be nothing. However, you might want to be careful when sharing passwords for your email, online shopping, or social media accounts. In fact, don’t even think about it. How sure are you the other person will handle the account the appropriately? What if they also share the passwords with other people? Let “sharing is caring” apply to other aspects of your life, not passwords.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
