WORST FOODS

WORST FOODS FOR ANYONE WHO STRUGGLES WITH OILY SKIN?

1. What are 4-5 foods you’d recommend anyone with oily skin removing from their diet or staying away from?

Do you have oily skin? If yes, the below foods may not be favorable to you;

Fried foods

We all know how tasty fried foods are. But how do they influence your skin? Fried foods, especially with excessive omega-6 fatty acids result in acne and pimples. For instance, fried chips, samosas, and French fries have large omega-6 amounts that risk your skin health.

Dairy foods

Dairy products are wonderful for health. However, they may negatively influence your skin due to their high hormonal contents. They can block skin pores and increase oil content that risks acne. Why not opt for soy or almond milk if you must consume dairy products? I recommend them because they are filled with vitamins and antioxidants that keep the skin healthy.

Sugary foods

Sugary foods mainly increase inflammation to the body. As a result, the skin is affected. It can trigger more oily skin and acne.

Salty foods

Salt is flavorful and adds taste to food. But excessive intake can dehydrate the skin. This triggers overproduction of oil to compensate for the lost water.

2. Why, in your opinion, might you suggest avoiding them and what could they be replaced with?

Instead of the above foods, consider the following;

Fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables feature the best vitamins for healthy skin. For instance, they have vitamins A, B, C, and minerals that prevent acne and other skin related issues. They also have antioxidants that attack radicals, which inflame the skin.

Dark chocolate

If your skin is oily, be a lover of dark chocolate. But I do not mean you overdo it. Dark chocolate contains antioxidants called flavonoids, which prevent acne inflammation, leaving your skin glowing.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
